The Sweet Simple Life

Because of yesterday’s oily and fatty food overload, I promised myself not to eat fried food today. Breakfast, I had pesto+cheese+tomato sandwich from Big Chill, Lunch I ate Chopsuey, Rice and steamed siomai. I was almost successful but when I talked to one of my DKS friends, we agreed to have dinner and I knew right then and there that Fried food may be unavoidable 😦

We had dinner at Greenwich (local fastfood, sister company of Jollibee), and I ate lasagna, fried chicken and a cup of rice.

Yeah yeah. I failed miserably. But hey, breakfast and lunch with no oily stuff is a big achievement especially for someone like me! I will try to make up for it in the coming days.

After dinner we went to Vanilla Cupcake in Glorietta, remember that pastel-colored restaurant with super girlicious interiors? They have a branch in one of the malls near the office. And these are what we had

#Dayrefatties #Foodie #Foodporn

Hmmm, this was Marlon’s. I forgot if it was Peanut butter Nutella or Chocolate Nutella. Too sweet for me.

Jennibeth’s – Valrhona Chocolate. No idea what Valrhona means, my guess is it’s a combination of two names Val + Rhona lol. Too sweet again!

Mine! Strawberry Lemon, with just the right amount of sweetness and the piquancy of the lemon. Must try!!!

My dinner dates tonight! Notice that the gay guys are wearing Pink shirts? Hah! It’s my way of paying homage to the movie Mean Girls….

On Wednesdays, we wear pink!

Earlier in the office, I overheard a conversation about working out and travel among our colleagues. Here’s what they talked about (non-verbatim):

πŸ’πŸ» You’re trying to get buff? Why? Are you going to Boracay

πŸ‘¦πŸ» Hell no! He’s going to El Nido, Miniloc Island (high end place in El Nido, Palawan)

πŸ‘¬ Boracay? eew

πŸ‘¨πŸ» Yeah Boracay is for the Masses (poor people)

AND I WAS LIKE…. Oh my God. Here they go again. Some people can just be downright insensitive. I immediately sent @supermavic

a message via Office Communicator.

Honestly, I can take the extreme filthy rich behavior of some of our colleagues. But for them to demean one of the best places and one of my favorite place in the world? That’s simply annoying. Could it be that they never really knew how fun it was in Boracay? That despite all the wealth they have and all the beautiful places they can go to – they never really get to experience them? Were they just humblebragging or oversharing for the “likes”?

At times, I find myself guilty of too much photo sharing. But then, when I travel, I see to it that I can get to experience these places no matter how hard or scary the rides were, how sleepless I was (from too much excitement), or just how random or unplanned the trips were.

I do post and share my travel photos; they may not be as expensive or as “high end”, but I am 100% sure that I enjoy every minute of it. NO MATTER HOW SIMPLE or HOW MASA my travels are.

As a matter of fact, I am so looking forward to my travels this year coz I want most of them to be backpaker-ish, very D.I.Y.

Of course, I would share everything on Dayre. I would like to help Pia Wurtzbach in promoting our country (kidding!)

This is one of the reasons why I no longer post on Facebook that much. I’m not interested with the likes, I just want to chronicle my experiences and ultimately have some solid FUN memories to remember them by! Again, thank you Dayre πŸ‘πŸΌ
