Weekend Escape

Yay!! It’s the weekend!!! We’re off to a boutique hotel in Alabang for a weekend staycation!!!

But first, some coffee.. I was hoping that the place won’t be packed, and yey, it wasn’t! However, they still don’t have vanilla, so I’m settling for the next best thing (for me) – cafe latte.

Since one third of the weekend gang is always late, we had a light breakfast at McDonald’s for this month’s Happy Meal

MARIO KART!!!

Actually, I’m not a fan – my friend is. So since he helped me in my CBTL stamps, I helped him in his toy collection lol. That’s friendship πŸ˜†

There’s our late (tardy as always) friend surrounded by policemen lol. There’s heavy police visibility right now because of the APEC summit next week.

Lookie! They even have license plates, I’m guessing that during APEC days, these would be the only cars available on the road.

There are DRONES everywhere! Like, seriously, this is an intense, EXTREMELY HIGH security event.

We went to this hidden gem in ParaΓ±aque called The Girl + The Bull for late lunch. The place only has limited items in their menu but upon checking the Net to find which ones to order, I realized that they have already changed some and maybe retained the bestsellers. So we tried the following (for the #Dayrefatties )

Arugula Salad – apple, bacon, slow poached egg, parmesan, pommery mustard, truffle oil

Our verdict: πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Chicken Bibimbap : Kimchi Rice, Gochujang Rice, Slow Poached Egg, Black Sesame, Nori

Verdict : πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹ and a half

Aki said the Bibimbap isn’t that special

Pork Belly : Beet, Spinach, Peanut, Fish Sauce Caramel, Coconut, Coriander

My Verdict : πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Rice not included so, a bit expensive for the serving size 😟

Buttermilk Fried Chicken : Brioche French Toast, Balsamic Maple Syrup

Verdict: πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

As per Geli, the chicken is not yet the best she has tasted but the French toast is Amazing.

The three hungry stooges lol

Dessert: Matcha Faux Twix

πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Matcha is good, but there’s too much caramel. Too sweet for me

Staycation is at Azumi Boutique Hotel in faraway Alabang, the southern part of the National Capital Region. It’s a cozy hotel perfect for a stylish weekend getaway.

Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by an artsy lobby decorated with framed photographs of various landmarks from around the world

I can see photos of the London red telephone booths, the Big Ben and mini replicas of the Eiffel Tower.

We booked a Garden Room (P4500)

Sorry for the messy bed, we all got too excited upon entering and tried it immediately.

The room has nice lighting perfect for taking selfies!

The artificial grass outside is also another nice photo shoot spot haha!

There’s a lap pool at the rooftop overlooking the city, providing you with an awesome view at night. The lights of the buildings and establishments outside shine like colorful stars on the ground.

At the end of the day, it’s time for wine, cheese and apples!!!
